The bottom line is this;
“Wait and See” is a foolish and unbiblical position to take!

The Next U.S. President

The camera man said, “When you poured oil over his head, it was a holy moment. I put my camera down and got on my knees.”

In September of 2007, I received a personal invitation to attend the Value Voters Debate to be held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The debate consisted of the Republican candidates running for the office of president of the United States. My part was to see if God would reveal a David among the Republican candidates, and if so, to pour oil on his head like Samuel did David for him to become the next king of Israel. If God did speak about one of the seven candidates, he would be pulled aside and it was requested that I pour oil on his head and declare the word of the Lord over him.

On September 17th, I found myself sitting in a beautiful auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida watching all the activities of the debate. TV cameras were rolling, reporters and security people were everywhere and the atmosphere was filled with a sense of destiny. I was sitting next to a friend from Texas who had been chosen to vote in this debate along with 340 other leaders around the country. Each candidate was to answer a series of questions posed to them by a panel which was made up of seven well-known Christian leaders. The questions penetrated and revealed the hearts of each Republican candidate and we all learned much about each one of them. My friend from Texas sitting next to me was one of the few who knew why I had been invited to the debate. Before the final votes were in, he asked me the big question, “Has God shown you anyone yet?” I said, “Yes- Governor Mike Huckabee, he’s the one I want to lay hands on.”

After the candidates left the stage I began to look for the friend who invited me to the debate. This person was the one who was setting up the private prayer meeting with the candidate God would choose. The auditorium was busy with all the excitement of the TV interviews and photographers taking pictures of those who participated in the debate. The final votes came in indicating that Mike Huckabee had won the debate by a landslide.

Before we knew it, the security was kindly escorting us out the front door as it was getting late and I was becoming a little distraught over the unyielding circumstances that were robbing us of doing God’s will to anoint Huckabee. However, I was excited that God had spoken clearly who His choice for president was. God’s choice among the Republican brothers was the “shepherd boy” from Hope, Arkansas. To me, some of the other candidates looked very capable of doing the job, but not according to the purpose God has for the next president of the United States.

Leaving the debate a bit disappointed that things didn’t go as planned, I caught a taxi and went to a restaurant to meet some friends from Texas. When I spoke to them about how we weren’t able to do the private anointing of the Governor, everyone remained in good spirits and felt like it was a successful debate in that there was a clear winner. We sat around the table and shared our insights to the debate, when suddenly one of the guys said, “Look there’s Huckabee right over there!” We waved hello to him and he responded by coming over to our table to greet us. My friend asked him if he heard the news that he had won the debate by a landslide. He said, “Yes, I heard.” In my eyes this looked like the perfect opportunity, so I stood up and said, “I would like to pray for you” and the Governor said “Yes, be praying for me” as he walked away.

A holy boldness came on me and I said, “I mean right now.” He turned around very kindly and came to our table to receive the prayer. Before I knew it, I had placed my hand on his head and began to speak over him, “You are going to shepherd this nation and you will hear the voice of God saying you are God’s choice.” I continued to pray for him and he was very kind and respectful. I started to reach for the butter on the table to anoint him but it did not seem appropriate for the moment. I could hardly believe that this was just a coincidence and knew it was a “God appointment.” The Governor and his staff left the restaurant and we all rejoiced over what God did that night.

After finishing our meal we all got up and went next door to our hotel. And as we were walking through the hotel lobby sharing stories, one of the guys said, “Look Randy there’s Governor Huckabee!” There stood the Governor and my friend from the debate with a photographer taking pictures in the lobby of the hotel. We greeted and my friend said, “I have told the Governor about you and I have the oil. Let’s find a private place to anoint him.”

In the courtyard of the hotel, we found some lawn furniture where the Governor joined us. We sat down to share for a moment before praying. As the Governor and I were being introduced, the Governor looked a little puzzled. I personally can’t read minds but Mr. Huckabee seemed to be thinking, “Just a few moments ago this man, a total stranger, prayed for me at the restaurant with his hand on my head and told me that I was God’s choice for president of the United States.” My friend who was introducing us had no knowledge that this had happened just moments before.

After officially being introduced, the Governor realized I was the person he had been told about that was going to anoint and pray for him. I stood up with the bottle of oil in my hand and thoughts filled my head to pour the oil over his head like Samuel the prophet did when he anointed young David to be king. I poured the oil over his head, placed my hand on his head and began to speak over him. “You will shepherd this nation. Hear the voice of God, that you are his choice. You will be the next president of the United States of America and the favor on you will move out of the way those who are not favored.” He appeared to be very touched. There was a photographer taking pictures whom afterwards told me, “Randy, the moment you stood to pour the oil, I had to put my camera down and get on my knees. It was a very holy moment.”

I was in awe now because everything had been accomplished on this mission. God had revealed the “David” to me and I had anointed and spoken the word of the Lord over him. It was timed and planned by God himself in spite of the earlier sequence of events. God did it exactly the way He wanted to.

The next morning as I had time to reflect on the evening before, I realized there had been a type of “double blessing“ on the evening. Mike Huckabee was chosen twice that night–once by God speaking to me prophetically before the voting took place and again by the delegates at the debate. Twice chosen– once by God in a prophetic word and once again chosen by the voting of God’s leaders. I had encountered him twice, prayed for him twice, prophesied and publicly declared over him twice. This had happened with two (twice) different groups of people–one group in the restaurant and later another group in the courtyard of the hotel.

To top it off, the next morning we went deep-sea fishing and there was a beautiful “full double rainbow” that looked like an archway over Ft. Lauderdale. It was the first I had ever seen during my lifetime and the first for the captain and his son, who are out to sea most every day. I feel doubly blessed to have been a part of this destiny-filled event. I believe the future of this country is full of hope with a man from Hope. We all need to take a personal interest, pray and elect Godly leaders.

This is a very solemn question, and we must restrict ourselves to what the Scriptures say by way of reply.

“You shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul”. (Deuteronomy 13:3).

From those words it is clear that God allows teachers of error for the same reason as He does persecutors of His people: to test their love, to try their fidelity, to show that their loyalty to him is such that they will not give ear unto His enemies. Error has always been more popular than the Truth, for it lets down the bars and fosters fleshly indulgence, but for that very reason it is obnoxious to the godly.

The one who by grace can say “I have chosen the way of Truth” will be able to add “I have stuck unto Thy testimonies” (Psalm 119:30, 31), none being able to move him therefrom.

“For there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized.” (1 Corinthians 11:19).

Error serves as a flail, separating the chaff from the wheat. Let some plausible and popular preacher come forward with an old error decked out in new clothes and empty professors will at once flock to his standard; but not so with those who are established in the Faith. Thus, by means of the false prophets, God makes it appear who are the ones who hold the Truth in sincerity: they are faithful to Him despite all temptations to turn away unto a “broader-minded” way. The genuine gold endures every test to which it is subjected. Thus too are the unregenerate “converts” revealed: the counterfeit gold will not withstand the fire. Those who are attracted by a novelty do not endure but are soon carried away by some newer innovation.

Pat Robertson of The 700 Club fame has once again prophesied wrongly! This time in an interview on CNN, Mr. Robertson reversed himself on a prophecy given in January of 2004. In that prophecy Mr. Robertson declared the Mr. Bush would win re-election “in a walk” and added, ” I really believe I’m hearing from the Lord its going to be a blowout.” But yesterday he admitted that this prophecy was not the Lord speaking but his own thoughts. Mr. Robertson stated in the interview, “I thought it was gong to be a blowout, but I think its razor thin.”
