Attorney Mat Staver from Liberty Counsel asking for prayer — defending God ordained families

The battle between light and darkness is being fought at the highest levels of government in our land. Attorney Mat Staver from Liberty Counsel is walking into the lion’s den at noon Pacific time today at the California Supreme Court in defense of the family–the way God defined it. He requests prayer. Yesterday he wrote:

“Tomorrow, I will step into the chambers of the California State Supreme Court and argue one of the most important cases to defend marriage we have seen in a number of years.

This hearing will be just as intensive as the U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments I have participated in.

For three hours (from noon to 3pm EST) I will lead our effort against a team of attorneys representing the ACLU, LAMBDA, Equality California, the National Center for Lesbian Rights and other radical groups. We have invested thousands of hours and nearly $500,000 in legal services preparing for this three-hour argument.

To emphasize to you the intensity of this legal battle, we are required to have personal security in place for the duration of our time here on the ground.

Our friends in California are concerned for our personal safety because of the hostile nature of the homosexual activist groups.

Please keep me and our entire team in your prayers as we make final preparations and especially during the oral arguments. Pray for our safety. Pray that the Lord will give us peace and clarity. And pray for me that I will be able to present the best case possible before the court to save marriage from the radical same-sex agenda.

I am confident we can win — but I dare not fight this battle alone!
