Why we do what we do

Date October 20, 2007

It is heavy on my heart that those who frequent this blog understand why we do what we do. It is my firm conviction that what we do, we do because we want the truth to rain supreme. It is the truth that will and does set all free (John 8:31-32). To that end, we are compeled to be faithful to Jude 3, that is, to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
We understand that everyone is capable of error. It is also a fact, however, that biblical error should be addressed. We also submit ourselves to the understanding of

1 Corinthians 10:12

Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.

So, with all humility, we try to warn others about those who are infecting the Church and the world with false doctrine and false teaching. This is not our only calling. We desire to see the world saved and want to make disciples. As we see it, part of ‘defending the faith’ is sharing the gospel, preaching and teaching from God’s Word, making disciples, and being a part of seeing justice and truth executed in the earth.

There are many false gospels out there today and we want to defend and proclaim the one and only true gospel, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:6-9 makes it clear how we should understand fales gospels.

Galatians 1:6-9

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

This is a hard message; those sharing another gospel are accursed. We don’t want to fall into the other gospel category, yet many ministries today do.

Therfore we are doing our best through the grace of God to server Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Grace be with you.
