Easter — Remembering why Christians Celebrate Christ’s Death and Resurrection

Date April 4, 2007

For most Christian’s, Easter is a time to reflect on what Christ did on the Cross.

We remember how he suffered before going to the Cross and then what he went through on the Cross.

We think about why he endured the Cross. Hebrews 12:1-3

We think about how his shed blood provides for us a way of escape. An escape from the wrath to come on the Day of Judgment. Hebrews 9:27-28 By repenting of our sins and putting our faith and trust in Christ we gain eternal life with Jesus in heaven. What a comfort we have in knowing the truth of the redemption we have through Jesus death on the Cross.

Colossians 1:13-14

We think of the healing that is ours through the Cross. 1 Peter 2:24

We should think about how we need to tell others the story of the Cross. The meaning of the Cross. The redemption that can be received through the Cross.

God Bless each of you this Easter season and remember to turn to Christ, worship him, and devote yourself to serving him for the rest of your days here on earth.
